RIK® Fluid Overlay provides pressure, shear and
friction relief through proprietary MicroFlow™
technology and anti-shear layers for Medium-High risk patients.
MicroFlow™ conforms to bony prominences, allowing the
body to sink into the overlay evenly distributing pressure over a
larger surface area. Anti-shear layers, combined with
MicroFlow™ reduce the shear associated with body
movement.
Key Product Features
MicroFlow™
Conforms to the contours of the body for optimal pressure
redistribution and it "flows" with every patient movement to
significantly reduce shear. Unlike gel, MicroFlow™ has
no "memory" to ensure pressure relief and patient comfort.
Virtually eliminates bottoming out as the fluid is
non-compressible.
Softex™ cover
The undersheet and cover are "wrinkled" to reduce shear and
friction and increase patient comfort. The coversheet is loosely
fitted to allow the patient to sink into mattress, reducing the
risk of hammocking.
Anti-shear layers
Specially designed anti-shear layers reduce shear and
friction.
Firm foam perimeter
Provides safe edge for patient support and egress. The V-shaped
cuts allow the mattress to bend, at the head and foot, for ease of
contouring with electric frames.
High-quality foam base
High-quality foam base with built-in pillars works with each
MicroFlow™ section to increase patient immersion, reduce
peak pressures and reduce the risks of bottoming out.
