Vhi Healthcare.
Commencing July 1st 2008, V.A.C.® Therapy is a
recognised device on the Vhi Healthcare 'Approved List of Medical
and Surgical Appliances'. As a result, Vhi patients can be
discharged from hospital on V.A.C.® Therapy and submit a
claim for reimbursement from Vhi.
V.A.C.® Therapy is the only negative pressure wound
therapy (NPWT) device recognised by Vhi healthcare and by
working together, KCI Ireland and Vhi Healthcare are bringing wound
care home for Irish private patients.

A new large multicenter randomised controlled trial shows a
significantly greater proportion of diabetic foot wounds completely
healed with V.A.C.® Therapy, compared to advanced moist
wound therapy. The study also showed significantly faster wound
healing, a reduced number of secondary amputations and no changes
in therapy associated complications.
